MIKE LAMPLEY
As a young man Mike was very much involved in powerlifting. He trained as a power lifter for 6 years. After many years of sedentary lifestyle and reaching middle age Mike realized that it was time to get healthy. He immediately began to seek an exercise program. His research into fitness programs was extensive and he came to the realization that CrossFit was the way to go. In May of 2008 Mike received his Level I certification as a CrossFit trainer. He is constantly spending time on the CrossFit main site and other affiliate sites to learn more. For Mike it is a joy to help others work towards their individual fitness goals.
SUZIE MADRID
My mom introduced me to exercise as a distraction from this guy she preferred I not date (that’s the nice way of saying it), but as usual she knew what she was talking about! I dumped the boyfriend and became 110% dedicated to “gym”, my new found love. As a fitness enthusiast for 25 years now, I was always on the search for something new to rejuvenate my exercise program. After stopping into MMCrossfit on a whim and going through the Newbie WOD, I knew Crossfit was for me. Giving up the globo gym membership was one of my most liberating moments. For many years fitness was about vanity for me, still is, but living a healthy lifestyle was instrumental to a speedy recovery after having major surgery and beating thyroid cancer. The fundamentals of Crossfit really resonate to me and my journey, and I now enjoy sharing that with others. It is rewarding to have the opportunity to work with people of all ages and fitness levels to help them achieve their goals. It is never too late to start; if you are willing to make the commitment to yourself, I’m willing to be there for you every step of the way! In addition to my level 1 Crossfit certification, I’ve also attended the Crossfit Nutrition Seminar and personally work on my Olympic lifts (for myself and as a coach) since, until Crossfit, never new snatch, clean or jerk was something beyond dirty words you heard in the lines of adult rated movies. Crossfit has really opened my eyes to things I never thought I could do; every day is fun and I love the anticipation of what’s next!
HOLLY NISSEN
Holly was raised to appreciate an active lifestyle and was encouraged to play softball from elementary school through her teenage years. This trend continued into her adult life, but it manifested in an unexpected way: her exercise consisted mainly of following Denise Austin’s video instructions to 300 sit-ups a day while running an in-home day care and raising a son and daughter of her own. To put it lightly, this kept Holly moving. As her children got older, Holly took on a second job as a machinist while still operating her day care. After accepting her manager’s challenge to try Crossfit, she became hooked after the first 5 days! She looks forward to pushing herself and others to try something new every day while exercising the body, mind and soul—Holly loves Crossfit and her Crossfit family!
STACY JONES
Stacy grew up in a very athletic household. His dad was a collegiate football player and later a body builder, mother an aerobics instructor, and an older brother who played football and ran track and currently a power lifter. The only sports that he was not able to participate in were wrestling and lacrosse because growing up in West Texas those things were not available. Going to High School at the home of the original “Friday Night Lights” he had no choice but to play football. He continued his football career at Texas A&M University, where his was a four year letterman at fullback. Stacy was introduced to CrossFit from a coworker who was in the Army Reserves. He was sold on the whole idea after the first WOD. After six months into CrossFit he got his Level 1 Certification in April 2011. He also received his Olympic Lifting Certification in August of 2011. Known as more of a silent leader in football, Stacy has found his voice in coaching CrossFit.
CHRIS ALLEN
Chris has always been an athlete in some capacity, whether is was as a young child testing the waters and dragging his Dad to every sport he played (football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, ice hockey, lacrosse, golf) or as a High School athlete who found his strides in playing Football and Golf (the perfect blend of power, speed, accuracy, balance). Then later as an adult competing as a runner, and an expert level mountain biker/cyclist. Chris got his first taste of teaching, or “motivating”, while serving 6 years in the USMC and leading various units PT regimens. Bored with his globo gym routine, Chris was introduced to CrossFit by a friend over a pint of beer and showed up the following Monday morning. It only took a few WODs before Chris was hooked and in July 2011 he received his Level 1 Certification. Chris’s CrossFit quote to others “CrossFit just works, try it you’ll see”
